Class Notes
We are surrounded by organizations in our daily lives (e.g., schools, businesses, governments, healthcare systems, non-profits, churches). These organizations are created, maintained, transformed, and, in some cases, destroyed by communication. The course will expose you to concepts and tools for analyzing organizational communication; it will also increase your awareness of the ways organizational communication shapes your life. We will draw upon classical and cutting-edge scholarship in the fields of communication, organization studies, and science and technology studies. The course requires active participation and includes hands-on experience using the case study method and interviewing. The planned operational mode for this class when meeting in-person is ROTATED COHORT.
