Description
This introductory course is for students in various technical fields. Representative technical reports will be studied, as well as abstracts, the presentation of visuals and oral communication. Writing assignments will emerge from case studies reflecting on-the-job challenges.

This section of ENGCMP 0600, Intro to Technical Writing focuses on technical writing and workplace communication using a design/prototyping framework. In this course you will learn to write clearly and succinctly, gain experience working in a design-focused writing environment, and learn to write with other individuals within a networked writing infrastructure. In this course you will create using a variety of digital tools and available technologies, and apply thorough awareness and analysis, all of the rhetorical choices you make to inform, influence, instruct, engage, and/or convince your audience.
